Code of Ethics
We are on a mission to elevate thriving for the least among us so we all benefit the most.
Inspired by the unique challenges of Black, Indigenous, and Latina women/femmes, we have chosen four key principles that we value and act upon every day: Honor Humanness, Increase Meaning, Influence Change and Be Ethical.
This is the way we make decisions, engage and deliver innovative solutions so the lives and livelihoods of all our stakeholders—customers, workers (employees, freelancers, etc.), partners, investors, suppliers and vendors—are benefited by what we do today and tomorrow.
Together, we can create a brighter future for generations of Thriving Warriors to come.
Honor Humanness
We prioritize humans and the Planet over computers and profits.
We uplift each other, treat everyone with dignity and fairness, and show compassion and kindness to those around us. We create an environment where everyone feels safe, seen, heard and respected; is valued for their unique talents, perspectives and contributions; and is empowered to fully thrive.
We embrace our shared humanity so that we can leave a better future for generations to come.
Increase Meaning
We prioritize meaning so that future generations can continue to benefit from our work today.
Through our actions and words, we seek to create lasting connections with everyone who is involved in furthering the mission of elevating thriving for the least among us so we all benefit the most.
We recognize when individuals experience thwarted thriving—the state of having the potential to succeed, but being hindered by external or internal factors such as obstacles, challenges, and self-sabotage. And, we actively work towards creating equitable solutions that maximize their potential, unlock positive outcomes, and form uplifting communities around the world.
Influence Change
We create positive change in society by providing accessible solutions with sustainable results.
Our goal is to combine life, work, and technology in a way that positively improves life for individuals across all communities, while minimizing the harmful effects of technology to elevate tech wellness.
Be Ethical
Our intention is to not only elevate people's life+work+tech but also to be ethical by design so we deliver solutions without harming people, the planet or profits.
As conscientious technology builders and lifestyle technologists, it is important for us to ensure a responsible approach when it comes to sourcing our materials, manufacturing our products and doing business with our external stakeholders.
It is also important to design our solutions to be accessible for everyone, ensuring that no one is excluded from benefiting from technology's advances. We respond honestly and fairly to questions about our solutons and take responsibility for the usage and protection of our customer data.
We model, advocate and lead initiatives for technologists to create technology that is ethical—enriching and transparent, holistic and inclusive, conscientious and accountable, and lovable for all stakeholders involved. This allows us to create meaningful connections with our partners, while ensuring that any potential technology harms are minimized.
We will always hold our workers (employees, freelancers, etc.), partners and vendors accountable for adhering to our ethical practices.
What does it mean for technology to be ethical?
Technology was created to improve the world and now it has caused so much damage. Our ethical technology acronym shows how technology could become more ethical.
